Frequently Asked Questions about the Lenten Small Groups:
What are small faith-sharing groups? Small faith-sharing groups, composed of 10-12 people, are groups of parishioners who make a strong commitment to come together for six-weeks at one another’s homes or at church to share their thoughts and experiences using written materials related to our Catholic faith.
When will the groups begin? The week of Sunday, March 2, the Sunday before Ash Wednesday, with meetings continuing for six weeks to finish before Holy Week.
How long will the meetings last? Meetings will last from 1 ½ to 2 hours, giving time for prayer, sharing, announcements, and fellowship.
Why have groups in the parish? To make it easier to connect with fellow parishioners; to reach out and invite Catholics who may no longer come to church; to welcome new people into the parish by inviting them to the small group; to experience the warmth of a small group in learning about our faith.
How do I decide which group to participate in? We are striving to make groups available on different days of the week and at different times, so that parishioners can choose a convenient time for them.
What materials will be used? The book from Dynamic Catholic, Everybody Needs to Forgive Somebody, by Dr. Allen R. Hunt. Free books for participants.
What might be the benefits for me? The small groups have great potential for building stronger community bonds within our parish, and they have proven value in deepening the spiritual growth of those who participate.
How do I sign up? 1) Use the bulletin insert and place it in offertory basket or bring to Parish Office. 2) Access the sign up on the parish website. 3) Email Sister Madeline
